Tory MP David Warburton has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital after an investigation was launched into allegations about his behaviour.
The Somerton and Frome MP, who has had the Tory whip eliminated, is being handled for shock and stress.
It comes after it emerged his conduct was being examined by the parliamentary harassment watchdog following sexual harassment and drug use claims.
The Sunday Instances reported two girls had filed formal complaints to parliament’s Impartial Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS) about Mr Warburton’s behaviour, whereas a 3rd lady made allegations about his conduct.
The allegations reported by the newspaper relate to sexual misconduct and a declare he had taken cocaine.
Mr Warburton is claimed to disclaim any wrongdoing. He’s quoted as telling The Telegraph: “I’ve huge quantities of defence, however sadly the way in which that issues work signifies that doesn’t come out first.

The previous businessman is chair of the all-party parliamentary group on music and has beforehand been a member of the European scrutiny committee.
He lives close to Somerton, in Somerset, along with his spouse and their two kids.
The Impartial Complaints and Grievance Scheme was arrange in 2019 following the MeToo motion in Westminster.
