Prime minister Boris Johnson was positioned below normal anaesthetic for a routine operation on his sinuses this morning, Downing Road has stated.
Duty for “important selections” dealing with the federal government was handed over to deputy prime minister Dominic Raab for a 24-hour interval from the beginning of the operation.
Mr Johnson was pushed to an NHS hospital in London round 6am on Monday morning and was put below anaesthetic shortly afterwards for the operation, which No 10 described as “minor”.
The op – which had been scheduled for a while and was not an emergency – was described as a hit and Mr Johnson returned to Downing Road round 10am, the place he’s spending the day resting.
